Duo FlutarelloLucie Benz (flute) was born in Adelaide, Australia. She has a Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours from the University of Adelaide, and in 1999 completed her Master of Music on a full Scholarship. In 2000 she undertook further postgraduate studies at the State Music Conservatorium in Mannheim, Germany, with Prof. Jean-Michel Tanguy. She completed a Soloist's Diploma in 2004 with a performance of the Nielson Flute Concerto with the Baden-Baden Philharmonie. She has performed as soloist with the Kammer Ensemble Cologne on tours in Australia, Germany, Switzerland and France. She is a casual player with the Radio Orchestra Kaiserslautern and currently performs regularly with the SAP Kammer-Philharmonie, the Johann Strauss Orchestra Kurpfalz, the Symphonic Sound Orchestra, and the Heidelberger Sinfoniker.

In 2000, Lucie Benz and John Benz formed the Cello and Flute Ensemble, Duo Flutarello, and have since performed together in Germany, France, Portugal, Italy and Cyprus.
